MAKING A DIFFERENCE WITH A WESTCHESTER ADHD COACH

OUR WESTCHESTER ADHD COACHES TRAVEL TO YOUR HOME:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can pose significant challenges for children and teenagers in their academic and personal lives. It can affect their ability to focus, manage their time and tasks effectively, and regulate their emotions. At Themba Tutors, we recognize the impact that ADHD can have on students’ success and well-being. Our Westchester ADHD coaches are dedicated to helping students overcome these challenges and reach their full potential.
Westchester ADHD Coach
Our Westchester ADHD coaches are experienced professionals who specialize in working with students with ADHD. They understand the unique challenges that ADHD can present and are trained to develop strategies that address each student’s specific needs. Our Westchester ADHD coaches work collaboratively with students, parents, and teachers to create an individualized plan focusing on building skills and managing symptoms.
Working with Parents
It can be challenging to parent a child with ADHD, and our ADHD coaches in Westchester understand the importance of working together with parents. Our coaches know that parents are the experts on their kids’ strengths, weaknesses, and needs because they know them best. Our Westchester ADHD coaches work with parents to establish a strong relationship and create a successful environment.
Our Westchester ADHD coaches keep parents up to date on their child’s progress through constant communication and provide guidance and resources to help them provide their child with the best care possible. They also offer resources and methods for parents to manage their child’s behavior at home and promote positive interactions.
Our coaches also help parents comprehend the accommodations and services provided to their children at school. To meet their child’s educational needs, they can assist parents in communicating with teachers and other staff members at the school. Working with parents, our Westchester ADHD coaches help create a more comprehensive and all-encompassing plan for supporting students with ADHD.

Creating an Individualized Plan
Each student with ADHD is unique, and our Westchester ADHD coaches work to create an individualized plan that addresses their specific needs. This plan may include strategies for improving executive function skills such as time management and organization, developing study skills, and building self-advocacy skills. Our Westchester ADHD coaches may also work with students to develop strategies for managing stress and anxiety, which can be particularly challenging for students with ADHD.
Academic Advising and Support
Along with helping students set and accomplish academic goals, our coaches offer academic counseling and support. They assist students in making study plans, setting priorities, and developing time management skills. In addition, our coaches offer advice on handling tasks, running projects, and getting ready for tests.
Our Westchester ADHD coaches also have a lot of experience working with students who face academic difficulties because of their ADHD. They are able to pinpoint and resolve particular academic issues like planning, time management, staying focused, and submitting assignments on schedule. To ensure the student’s success, our coaches use a thorough approach to provide individualized attention to their unique academic needs. They also work with professors and other academic experts to create a successful plan that considers each student’s particular learning style and aids in academic success. By identifying each student’s strengths and working with them to strengthen their areas of weakness, our coaches help students learn with greater confidence.
Developing Self-Advocacy Skills
Self-advocacy skills are essential for students with ADHD, as they enable them to communicate their needs and seek support effectively. Our Westchester ADHD coaches work with students to develop these skills, teaching them to identify their strengths and challenges, articulate their needs, and advocate for themselves in the classroom and beyond.

Reducing Stress and Anxiety
Students with ADHD frequently experience high stress and anxiety levels, which can harm their personal and academic lives. Our coaches provide methods for managing these emotions, such as mindfulness exercises and breathing exercises. They also help students develop coping skills for handling stress and anxiety in various situations.
Additionally, our coaches help students identify stress and anxiety triggers and come up with coping strategies. They offer suggestions on dividing big, difficult tasks into smaller, more manageable ones and prioritizing tasks to reduce stress. Our coaches equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to master them so they can more easily and confidently face challenges in their personal and academic lives.
Building Confidence and Self Esteem
Our Westchester ADHD coaches understand that students with ADHD may struggle with confidence and self-esteem. They work to build these qualities by celebrating student successes, helping them recognize their strengths, and developing strategies for overcoming challenges.

TESTIMONIALS
I own a tutoring / educational consulting company myself. I called to ask for help with my daughter who has sensory, adhd related issues. The woman on the phone was very honest with me and really guided me in the right direction. Most of the other companies I had called didn’t seem to understand what “multisensory” learning style means which is fine, but I’m assuming they wouldn’t understand my daughter’ learning needs. I wound up getting better services through my daughter’s school, but I’d recommend Themba to any parent with a child with special education needs.

We are parents of a bright college age son who, despite his intelligence, has struggled academically because of ADHD and executive functioning challenges. After a very difficult first three semesters at college, which deeply affected his confidence and self esteem, our son left school and for years was too discouraged to return, fearful of more failure. We reached out to Themba Tutors to recommend someone who could give him the support and encouragement he needed to return to school, and was referred to Jordan W. We could not have been happier with that referral. We had no idea whether our son would be willing to work with him, but Jordan’s warm and engaging nature won him over. With Jordan’s support, guidance and encouragement, our son went back to college! He is still a work in progress and has many challenges ahead, but we are, and will always be, grateful for Jordan’s kind and caring nature, intelligence and extraordinary patience in helping our son move forward. Thank you Jordan and thank you Themba Tutors.

Dr. Tamara provided great support to my 11 year old son with ADHD. She worked with him on morning and evening routines. She was professional and relatable and he bonded with her, allowing her to use their relationship to teach him “en vivo” as well as additional tools to help my son work through some socialization issues. He learned a lot and has benefited from her support. We may reach out at a next developmental stage if needed and hope she is available, but trust that Craig would find another good fit for our child if not. Craig listened carefully at intake, asking the right questions and later checked in to ensure things were going alright. A positive experience, highly recommend Themba Tutors.

My son has ADHD and easily becomes overwhelmed and anxious with regards to test-taking. After his first tutoring session with Dr. Brooke, we knew it was a “good fit . She was able to quickly develop a great working rapport with my son. She understood that he needed to be gently challenged, praised and continually encouraged to keep him from becoming overly frustrated. His original PSAT score was a 26. Dr. Brooke helped him to bring his ACT score up to a 31. We can’t thank her enough!

Qi did a great job with my 14-year-old with ADHD. She helped her prioritize and pace herself to avoid becoming overwhelmed. Without her, my daughter probably would not have turned in some big pieces of homework at the end of the school year. I wish we had started with her earlier. Qi was calm and upbeat, and had lots of different strategies to try.
