Planning, monitoring, executing, and working memory are crucial skills for sustaining attention, cognitive flexibility, inhibition of impulses, and goal-directed persistence. Executive functioning plays a major role in reading, structuring essays, solving math problems, completing homework assignments, performing well on tests, and becoming active learners in the classroom.
The signs and symptoms of learning disabilities often differ from one individual to another. Particular issues can limit the ability to learn key skills, such as writing, math, and reading. Students may show difficulties with time management, attention, abstract reasoning, organization, and short and long-term memory. Children with learning disabilities need timely support and intervention, tailored to the needs of the individual.
Improving language processing can strengthen the ability to: Understand written instructions; acquire new and unfamiliar vocabulary words; use correct grammar; structure paragraphs; learn not to omit words or sounds when writing; organize the steps for thinking and writing to improve executive functioning;, identify main ideas and supporting details; deepen reading comprehension to improve monitoring while reading; and learn to construct mental imagery, summarize, preview texts, activate background knowledge, take advantage of graphic organizers, and more!

Sagaponack
Sagaponack is a village in the Town of Southampton in Suffolk County, New York, United States, on the East End of Long Island. The village was incorporated on September 2, 2005. Prior to its incorporation, Sagaponack was a census-designated place, with a population at the 2000 census of 582 for an area 70% greater than that of the current village. The name Sagaponack comes from the Shinnecock Indian Nation word for “land of the big ground nuts,” in reference to the Ground Nut (Apios Americana). A common misconception is that the name referred to potatoes, the predominant crop grown by farmers who first settled the area. The village includes one of the last remaining active one-room schoolhouses in New York State. The building, known locally as the “Little Red School House,” educates children in grades Kindergarten through third grade.
Southampton has jurisdiction over the village Southampton (of course) and the villages of Westhampton Beach, Quogue, Sagaponack, and Sag Harbor, which is shared with the Town of East Hampton. The hamlets include Westhampton, East Quogue, Hampton Bays, Shinnecock Hills, Water Mill, and Bridgehampton. Southampton Town also includes the hamlets of Eastport, Speonk, and Remsenburg, but these towns are not usually considered to be part of the Hamptons.
Sagaponack is generally considered to be the most expensive neighborhood in the Hamptons, as well as in the United States as a whole, generally ranking in the top spot on all major surveys. Sagaponack has the highest median property sale price at $6.85 million, with Water Mill next in line with a median of $3.9 million. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the median home sale price in Noyack and Hampton Bays is $859K and $902K, respectively. The village was home to many writers and literary business persons beginning in the 1950s and 1960s, appreciated for its quiet and cheap community living. Sag Harbor, just north of Sagaponack, is believed to have derived its name from the village. West of Sagaponack is a place that the Indians called Mecox, now a hamlet on the west side of Sagaponack Lake in the town of Bridgehampton.
The Hamptons offers the perfect mix of oceanside locale, rural atmosphere, historic charm, and exclusivity, all within driving distance of New York City. The area was conceived as a summer colony to provide an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and centuries later, it has maintained that same attitude.
Residents and visitors of varying ages and tax brackets come to the East End to spend time in notoriously expensive areas such as Sagaponack and Water Mill, but just as many find their place in more affordable areas like Montauk, Hampton Bays, and Westhampton. All of them are great places to enjoy the ocean breezes, white sand beaches, excellent seafood, lively parties, and the rural atmosphere of the South Fork. Sagaponack is known for its sophisticated art scene — in particular, artists such as Jackson Pollack, Lee Krasner, and William de Kooning lived in Springs. The Pollack-Krasner House is now a museum that is open to the public, and people can see the artists’ studios. Galleries such as the Parrish Art Museum and Guild Hall offer exhibits throughout the year.
