1:1 Tutoring/Coaching, All Ages, All Learners
If your child struggles in reading, you can help him or her overcome these challenges by providing tailored reading tutoring. We at Themba Tutors would be thrilled to help students achieve academic success. We can begin reading tutoring for your child whenever you want.
One-on-one tutoring can make a significant difference in your child’s academic success. The right tutor understands how to make a child feel safe and reassured during sessions by displaying patience and connecting with the child on his or her level. It is also critical to find a tutor who is encouraging and compassionate. The ideal tutor will be able to assess and identify the specific needs and gaps that must be addressed.
A tutor should be able to engage the child’s interest and capitalize on their strengths when teaching. The right tutor can help relieve a child’s anxiety about mastering a specific subject, whether learning or testing. The right tutor identifies what motivates your child to succeed, recognizes when something is not working and adjusts the teaching methods to achieve the goals. If your child loses concentration, the right tutor can redirect him or her. A good tutor should be able to teach your child a variety of strategies so that he or she can gain competence and confidence in the subject.
No Financial Obligations and the Intake is Free! We Guarantee Satisfaction!

At Themba Tutors, we take the time to help students and clients appreciate their strengths and succeed in areas where they need to improve. We offer personalized tools for each of our clients to help them become more aware of their individual needs as they work toward short-term goals. These skills will assist our students/clients in achieving their long-term goals.
When your child has difficulty reading, the repercussions extend far beyond the classroom. Reading difficulties can lead to exhausting homework sessions, low self-esteem, and negative social interactions, regardless of whether your child is in primary school, middle school, high school, or college. It is even more challenging for students who do have learning disabilities such as dyslexia. Although many children easily learn to read at their grade level, some students require personalized support and additional help from reading tutors.
Our North and Central NJ reading tutor customizes his reading tutoring lessons to your child’s specific needs. Will, our North and Central NJ reading tutor, would love to work with you to pinpoint and address areas that need additional support or improvement. Our reading tutor can support your child in improving the skills and self-assurance needed for academic success.
Our North and Central NJ reading tutor will tailor reading instruction to their specific needs, using a multisensory approach to keep them engaged and motivated. Aside from providing reading tutoring and instruction, our reading tutor will also track your child’s progress and provide feedback regularly to ensure that your child’s reading comprehension, decoding, and fluency skills continue to improve.
MEET OUR NORTH AND CENTRAL NJ READING TUTOR, WILL WHO COULD COME TO YOUR HOME
Master of Science, Special Education
Will’s passion for teaching was sparked as an undergraduate student at Tulane University during tutoring sessions with ESOL students in New Orleans. Upon graduating, Will taught for three years as a literacy specialist at the International School of Louisiana. As a literacy specialist, Will was trained in literacy curriculums that incorporated the Wilson Method, Fundations, and Reading Rescue. Over three years, Will worked with twenty-six emerging readers from grades two through five. At the beginning of his tenure, many of Will’s students did not know all of their letter sounds, but within two years every student was reading and writing at or above grade level. Since moving to New York eight years ago Will has earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education, taught elementary school, and high school, and served in a leadership position at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. From 2015-2017 Will was a first-grade special education teacher at PS123 in Harlem, where he used his experience as a literacy specialist to create individualized literacy plans for his students. Will left that position to teach and serve as the elementary school associate dean at Academics West, a specialized school for students with behavior and learning disabilities.
In 2019, Will would return to Harlem to participate in a program that used an SAT-based curriculum to support students in Math and English. Will teaches math up to Algebra 2. Will was excited about this program since he had accrued extensive experience as a test prep specialist during his time in New York and was excited to work with high schoolers in a classroom setting. Unfortunately, the program was terminated during the onset of the pandemic but Will values the one and half years he got to spend at the Harlem Children’s Zone, and he was able to help many students secure their dream of college admittance. Will is a big proponent of personalized education plans because everyone’s learning style is different. Over the last four years, Will has also tutored students in the following subjects: elementary math and English, middle school math, English, and social studies, ISEE prep, PSAT prep, SAT/ACT prep, AP English, and AP History. Will has experience working with students at all levels and has worked with students with ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism. Will is currently a rising star in sports media and is pursuing his ultimate goal of making television and movies. Will spends most of his free time with his three-year-old daughter, and one-year-old son and/or watching basketball.
