When dealing with projects at home, school, or work, a strong set of organizational skills allows one to plan and break down a huge task into smaller ones, allocate resources, and keep track of space and materials to achieve the goal more efficiently. Similarly, it is critical to plan the series of steps required to complete a goal, setting and sticking to the time frame in which tasks must be completed, delegating, meeting deadlines, and assessing one’s work or performance.
Our Miami executive function coach specializes in organizational coaching and tutoring for elementary, middle, and high school (grades 4 to 12) and college students and adults. These are some examples:
- Self-control or controlling impulsive behavior
- Keeping focus and attention
- Starting difficult or undesirable tasks
- Planning and prioritization of materials, ideas, information, and data
- Cognitive adaptability
To ensure your child’s academic success, Themba Tutors will:
- Communicate with the student’s teachers to monitor progress and address any new areas of concern that may arise.
- Align the tutoring plan with the school curriculum to ensure that new skills and information are seamlessly integrated.
- Serve as positive role models and mentors.
- Match your child with a tutor specializing in learning/child development and the specific area of content where assistance is most needed.
- Determine your child’s academic needs and devise the best solutions.
- Maintain regular contact with families to keep parents aware of their child’s progress and to offer advice on how to help their child at home.

Executive function refers to the cognitive abilities we all use to analyze tasks, break them down into steps, and keep them in mind until they are completed. These abilities enable us to effectively manage our time, memorize facts, comprehend what we read, solve multi-step problems, and organize our thoughts when writing.
Students and their families receive well-rounded and comprehensive support from Themba Tutors. When you work with our Miami executive function coach Alex, a native Spanish speaker, your child will receive focused attention, one-on-one guidance, and individualized tutoring tailored to his or her interests, strengths, concerns, and goals.
