You’ll receive a discount of $40 off per session (originally $165 per hour) for our middle school math tutoring services, valid until the end of the 2022–23 school year. This means that you can receive expert math tutoring for your child at a reduced cost for all remote middle school math sessions for the remainder of this school year. The discounted cost is $125 per 60-minute remote session, and it’s pay-as-you-go! We also offer free remote meet and greets with our staff (see below).

Remote math tutoring sessions are conducted online, making it easy and convenient for students to receive math help from the comfort of their own homes. MEET OUR REMOTE MATH TUTORS

IVY
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Master’s degree in Special Education
Ivy is a New York City teacher with 20 years of teaching experience. With a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from New York University and a Master’s degree in Special Education, she has applied her knowledge as a Pre K-Grade 6 mathematics, science, and classroom teacher to tutor students up to Grade 9. As a math coach, she has provided professional development to support teachers in mathematics instruction, and worked as a teacher content trainer and scorer on the Common Core New York State Math and ELA exams. Ivy has a track record of helping students improve their math skills, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving abilities. She has worked with diverse student populations, including those with emotional issues, speech and language disorders, dyslexia, executive functioning issues, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, and an autism spectrum disorder. By adapting instruction to individual learning styles, using visual models, examples, manipulatives, multimedia platforms, and innovative tools, Ivy believes that all children can learn and construct understanding by thinking critically through varied approaches and experiences.

HEATHER S.
Ph.D. in Foreign Language and Literature
Heather holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Italian Literature from UCLA, as well as a B.A. in German Literature from the University of Notre Dame and a second B.A. in French and American Literature from the Università degli Studi di Firenze. She has experience teaching Italian and German at UCLA and is fluent in several languages. Heather specializes in academic writing, research papers, personal statements, and resumes. She has scored a perfect 800 on the math section of her SAT and enjoys helping students maximize their standardized test results. Heather has 15 years of tutoring experience and is familiar with online teaching platforms. She is dedicated to helping students feel comfortable and confident in their academic careers.

DAVID P.
Master’s in Mathematics Education (7-12)
David is a highly experienced and licensed mathematics educator who has been teaching for over 15 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Emory University and a Master’s in Mathematics Education (7-12) from Touro College. David’s passion for teaching mathematics stems from his desire to instill a growth mindset in his students and help them develop a love for the subject. He has taught a wide range of math courses at leading international schools and has extensive knowledge of the IB curriculum. David’s teaching philosophy involves developing problem-solving skills and improving mathematical communication to build confidence and empower students to become self-regulated learners. When he’s not teaching, David enjoys making electronic music, playing the guitar, and coaching lacrosse teams.

AARON
Master’s in Math Education
Aaron has a diverse background in the music business, entrepreneurial studies, and mathematics education. He has been a middle school mathematics teacher for 15 years and currently leads the team of 6th-grade math teachers at Middle School 88 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY. He has received numerous fellowships and awards, including being a Model Teacher in the New York City Department of Education, a Math for America Master Teaching Fellow, a BetterLesson Blended Master Teaching Fellow, and a Fund for Teachers Fellow. He has led the creation of two blended learning programs, Teach to One: Math and Summit integrated learning program, both of which are focused on giving students control over their own learning. Aaron believes strongly in building positive relationships with students and has a passion for tutoring. He brings his personal interests, such as travel and wilderness backpacking, into his mathematics instruction.

ESTHER
Certified teacher with a Childhood Education/Special Education dual certification, Masters in STEM studies
Esther is a certified math teacher with a dual certification in Childhood Education/Special Education. She holds a Masters in STEM studies and has been teaching math at the middle school level in the NYC public school system since 2014. Esther is experienced in teaching diverse populations, including Special Education, English Language Learners, and enriched students. She uses data-driven instruction to identify areas of need and growth, with the goal of helping all students reach their highest potential. Esther also has experience tutoring students in study skills and standardized test-taking strategies. Outside of school, she enjoys giving back to her community through Toy Drives and Thanksgiving Drives, and is an avid runner, having completed the NYC and Boston Marathons.

ALEXA
Certified in Secondary Education Mathematics Grade 7-12
Alexa has a Bachelor’s Degree and certification in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics. She has a professional teaching license in Secondary Education Mathematics grades 7-12 and has been teaching for six years. Alexa has experience teaching math in grades 6-11 and tutoring in grades 6-12, including test prep for the Algebra 1 Regents, Geometry Regents, Algebra 2 Regents, and SATs. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes making math interesting, relevant, and possible for every student while meeting their individual needs and making activities engaging, rigorous, and enjoyable.

MORGAN
Masters in Adolescent Education: Mathematics
Morgan is a highly qualified math teacher with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Adolescent Education: Mathematics from SUNY Cortland. She is a certified Secondary Education Mathematics teacher in grades 7-12 and has extensive experience teaching math to middle and high school students. Morgan has worked with a diverse group of learners, including students with ADD/ADHD, autism, test-taking anxiety, English Language Learners, culturally diverse learners, and enriched students. She believes that every student can learn math and values mistakes to help them learn. Morgan prides herself on making connections with her students to create a comfortable and exciting learning environment. Additionally, she has experience in curriculum development, data interpretation, and state assessments, making her well-versed in Algebra and Geometry Regents Exams. Morgan continues to tutor in Westchester County and enjoys traveling, spending time with family, being creative, and helping others.

LEAH
Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics, M.S. in General and Special Education (grades 1-6)
Leah is a licensed special education teacher who has experience working with students who have different needs such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Intellectual Disability, Emotional Disturbance, and Speech-Language Disorder. She has worked with students to improve their executive functioning skills such as organization, planning, time management, goal setting, flexibility, metacognition, and decision-making skills. Leah has also tutored students in math, including for the ACT and SAT exams, and has experience teaching virtually.
Leah has a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in General and Special Education (grades 1-6) from Hunter College. She has taught math in various settings, including general education classrooms, Integrated Co-Teaching classrooms (ICT), and self-contained classrooms (12:1:1) for grades 5, 6, and 7. She currently teaches at a special education private transition school in Manhattan.
Leah believes that all students can learn and grow to their maximum potential. She differentiates materials to meet the needs of various learners and helps them use their strengths to overcome their weaknesses and become critical thinkers as mathematicians. She also helps students improve their planning, organization, and management skills.

LILLY S.
Master’s in Secondary Mathematics
Lilly has a strong educational background with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics from Iona College and a master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has been teaching for seven years and has experience teaching a variety of math courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, and Applied Mathematics.
Currently, Lilly teaches Algebra I, Geometry Applications, and an Algebra I inclusion class in collaboration with a special education teacher. She also has experience teaching a summer school Algebra course in collaboration with an ENL (English as a New Language) teacher.
Lilly’s teaching approach emphasizes creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported. She prioritizes getting to know her students’ strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles to personalize her teaching to each individual student. Lilly’s patience and motivational nature help students reach their full potential and gain confidence in their abilities. She is well-regarded by her students and is known for her excellent student rapport and ability to inspire students.
Outside of teaching, Lilly enjoys shopping, thrifting, fashion, watching vlogs, playing with her husky, and spending time with friends and family.

Masters of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience
Lilly has experience teaching a range of math subjects, including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, and Applied Mathematics. She currently teaches Algebra I, Geometry Applications, and an Algebra I inclusion class. Olga is a math teacher with over 20 years of experience at East Islip Public Middle School, teaching 6th-8th grade students, including accelerated and special education students. She has a bachelor’s and master’s in secondary math education and believes that math education improves problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Olga identifies student errors and provides multiple explanations until full understanding is achieved. She uses visual, auditory, and kinesthetic instruction as needed.
