ALGEBRA 1
Algebra 1 is a 9th-grade math course that introduces students to basic algebra concepts. It introduces students to expressions, equations and inequalities, and polynomials, to name a few topics. Algebra 1 consists of solving algebraic expressions for a viable answer, using simple variables such as x and y to form equations.

ALGEBRA 2
Algebra 2 is one of the most important math courses for high school and college students. It is typically the highest-level math course that students take in high school and makes up a significant portion of tests such as the SAT and ACT. Aside from math courses, the concepts students learn in Algebra 2 can also be applied in other subject areas, such as chemistry and physics.

GEOMETRY
We will focus on reviewing basic geometric concepts and formulas such as the Pythagorean theorem, area and volume, the beginnings of geometric proofs, congruence and similarity, strengthen their logic by tackling more complicated geometric proofs and work with a plane and coordinate geometry.

TRIGONOMETRY
We can help you with your trigonometry courses, whether you are in high school or college. We can help you with Trigonometry functions, sine, cosine, tangent, trigonometric identities, Pythagorean theorem, powers of complex numbers, inversions, and interpolation.

PRE-CALCULUS
Pre-calculus focuses on algebra, trigonometry, math analysis, and analytical geometry. Delving deeper into these subjects is meant to prepare students for calculus and equips them with the foundational skills that the course requires.

CALCULUS
Calculus is used in a variety of fields other than astronomy and space travel, including some that most people would not expect. Statistics, economics, engineering, physics, and even medicine use calculus to determine how the body interacts with and reacts to medications.

STATISTICS
Statistics are simply the study and manipulation of data. This includes collecting or gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions. The theories and concepts governing statistics rely on other fields of mathematical studies, such as linear algebra, integral and differential calculus, and probability theory. It is divided into two major areas: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.

EXETER MATH
The goal of Exeter math is to challenge students to think in a dynamic and creative way when solving math problems instead of relying on rote memory. While the traditional math curriculum requires teachers to provide direct instruction and conventional solutions, Exeter math encourages students to use analytical reasoning and exercise autonomy when solving math problems.

TESTIMONIALS

My child worked with Gillian D virtually for math enrichment. She is an excellent teacher. She took time to understand my child’s specific learning style and provided tools that would be engaging. She was kind and empathetic- really made it her goal to connect with my child and build trust and rapport. My child started the school year with confidence and without the typically “brain-drain” that occurs over the summer, thanks to Gillian.

-Nicole May

I want to thank you for the wonderful math tutoring you did with V! We really can see the changes in her self-confidence. It has been encouraging to see her improving her math grades. She is a big fan of yours, as are we. Because of the way LaGuardia HS is structuring classes for the year, V’s math class has now ended. Regardless, we will want Gillian to tutor V again when math officially starts up again in the fall.

-J.G.

This company is great in finding awesome learning specialists who work with kids of all ages and use multisensory techniques to help break down abstract concepts. My child needs help with math and they were able to supply my child with a top-notch math tutor who was able to really help my son improve. Not only is it hard to find qualified math learning specialists who work well with school aged children, but they come to your home, which is a real godsend.

-Mr. K. Kim

My son has been working with Jeffrey for math tutoring with brilliant results. Jeffrey helped reinforce the lessons from class, helping him build confidence and perseverance. Jeffrey worked diligently to prepare for each session by making sure he was aware of what material my son was covering each week. Jeffrey would arrive for sessions with problem sheets they could work from to strengthen his skills. He was always very patient, reassuring, and encouraging. While at the same time, he pushed Oliver toward mastery of the material. In six months, my son began to see himself as a capable, successful math student.

-Sara Baysinger

My daughter, a freshman in a public high school, was struggling in math. I got in touch with Blythe at Themba, and she managed to have a wonderful math tutor come to my home the following day. She stayed much more than the required time to make sure that my daughter understood all the concepts. She also followed up with us and asked if we had any other questions that she could help with. As a parent, it is a relief to know that you can secure a tutor very quickly who comes straight to your home.

A great experience!

-Tiphaine M.
