Making Algebra Fun: Introduction to Algebra 1

Grades: 6 – 7

(Requirement: Students must be currently enrolled in or have completed pre-Algebra coursework)

This class prepares you for the study of Algebra 1. Get ready for next year s math course. You will learn about new types of numbers such as integers, negative numbers, fractions and decimals. You will gain understanding of variable manipulation, the basics of equations including inverse operations, and the rules of evaluating expressions using order of operations. Plus, this course will make Algebra fun.

Dates: 10 sessions: Wednesdays and Fridays from May 13 to June 12, 2020
(Class will be held on Thursday, May 28 instead of Friday, May 29)
Time: 5pm – 6pm
Instructor: Jeffrey

Jeffrey is a NYC Department of Education teacher with expertise in Mathematics. At Themba Tutors, he provides support for students with and without learning differences in Mathematics and test prep.
